Niliya was a pampered 19-year-old heiress, born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Her parents, wealthy socialites, had always controlled every aspect of her life, from her friends to her education. Now, they were determined to control her love life as well.
“Niliya, darling,” her mother said over breakfast one morning, “We’ve found the perfect match for you. His name is Zi-Mo, and he comes from an excellent family.”
Niliya rolled her eyes. “Mom, I’m not some prize horse to be auctioned off to the highest bidder.”
Her father slammed his fist on the table, making the silverware rattle. “You will do as we say, young lady. This marriage is important for our business dealings.”
Niliya stormed out of the room, her heart heavy with dread. She had heard whispers about Zi-Mo, a spoiled brat who thought he could buy anything he wanted, including a wife.
A week later, Niliya found herself standing in a lavish ballroom, surrounded by strangers in fancy dresses and tuxedos. Her eyes scanned the crowd, searching for her future husband. That’s when she saw him.
